Real time ultrasound scanning allowing us to look inside tissues and diagnose more accurately instead of having to wait to be referred to hospital by your GP.

Cliff got the opportunity to train in and use real time ultrasound whilst working with the Saints rugby team. He was so impressed by the improved ability to instantly diagnose and quantify pathology than he decided to invest in an ultrasound scanner for the clinic. Over the past year he has attended the acclaimed Masters Degree in Musculo Skeletal ultrasound imaging at the University of Cumbria. Cliff has been fortunate in receiving mentoring from Dr Charlie Hardingham, Consultant Radiologist, within regular  NHS ultrasound clinics at Milton Keynes hospital.  He has found the real time ultrasound scanner invaluable within the clinic. For example we have been able to see the extent  of a rotator cuff tear in a shoulder in order to be able to advise the patient whether physiotherapy is appropriate or whether they would be better seeing a surgeon. We can then advise the GP accordingly. The key is always getting the right diagnosis. This helps us to be quick, accurate and efficient.
